THE POWER OF A WORD

Christian Devotional by Alves Batista

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” — John 1:1

On April 1st, we watched with great anticipation the launch of Artemis II. Days later, we also witnessed its return.

Cutting-edge technology, precise calculations, years of preparation… and yet, everything depends on conditions that lie beyond human control.

And even in the face of all this grandeur…

something echoes louder than the universe itself —

and deeper than the silence of space.

When contemplating the immensity, we don’t just speak of science.

We speak of Creation.

We speak of love.

We speak of Jesus.

This reminds us of something essential:

“By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.” — Psalm 33:6

Everything we see —

galaxies,

stars,

the Earth itself —

is not merely the result of chance.

It carries purpose.

It was born from a Word.

And here is the point that touches the heart:

👉 The same God who created the universe with a word…

👉 Is the God who still speaks over our lives today.

How often do we look at our problems and forget to look at the Author of all things?

How often do we doubt, even knowing who He is?

If a single Word was enough to create the cosmos…

✨ how much more can it transform what you have placed before Him —

perhaps in silence,

perhaps in tears?

“So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11

Today is the day to adjust our gaze.

Less on what is before us…

More on the One who is above all.

Praise.

Trust.

Wait.

He remains powerful —

and He is still speaking. 🙏

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

— Romans 10:17
